Precedent unit “Sisyphean labor” as a source of imagery in political media texts

The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the precedent unit “Sisyphean labor” as a component of the Russian-language media discourse. The transformational features of this unit, its syntagmatic and paradigmatic capabilities, as well as connotative potential when implemented in the media space are identified and described. The key thematic groups of contexts are established, including the studied construction in its original form or transformed; the specifics of its implementation in texts of different thematic orientation are indicated. The novelty of the article is due to the fact that for the first time it provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the precedent construction of "Sisyphean labor" as a valuable component of the modern media space. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to study media texts as a way of reflecting modern socio-political, economic and cultural realities. It is proved that, in the current media space, the precedent construction of "Sisyphean labor" acquires new meanings and connotations, and represents a significant fragment of the world picture of the bearer of Russian linguoculture.
