Predicative relations in a text (by the example of conflict dialogue in modern Chinese)

Бесплатный доступ

Dedicated to the description of predicative relations as an important aspect of the analysis of text semantic structure. The research helps to differentiate the concepts of predicative relation, predication and predicativity. The predicative relation is defined as the result of the predication process, as the relation existing between the predicated and predicating components of the proposition. The analysis of predicative relations seems especially useful when working with dialogical texts, cohesion and coherence of which very often can’t be observed at a superficial syntactic level. Based on the classification of predicative relations developed by Yu.V. Popov and T.P. Tregubovich the author identifies the types of predicative relations that are most representative for conflict dialogue in modern Chinese.
