Background of medical expert legislation of Russia

In this paper, an analysis of the earliest stages of development of legislation on medical examination is carried out. Ceremonial burial traditions in Russia are reviewed with the elements of forensics mentioned. The author's point of view on issues of formation of medical expert legislation, formulated on the basis of a study of archival documents and regulatory acts first in Russia is stated. Particular attention is paid to Russkaya Pravda Short and the Vast Editions, where the elements referred to forensic examination remain relevant even in our days.
