The article deals with the development of entrepreneurial potential of the population of the Vologda oblast. The ratio of the it of inhabitants to small businesses, assess their level of involvement in the enterprise and the degree of readiness to start their own business, identified the conditions necessary to increase entrepreneurial activity in the region.
