The content of the concept "prosperity" through the aphoristic fund of linguistic culture

The article deals with the concept 'prosperity' in the English and Russian linguistic cultures and is aimed at pointing out specificity of its perception by representatives of the two cultures. The author views the aphoristic saying as a peculiar type of phraseology that is characterized by a number of evaluative features as including consciousness saturation, paradoxicality, cultural flavor. The analysis of aphoristic sayings resulted in detaching the following evaluative features of the concept 'prosperity': contingency, transiency, diligence, spoiliation, greed, stinginess, etc., and specifying their representation in English and Russian linguistic cultures
