The article is devoted to the biography of сount Nikolay Nikolayevich Ignatyev (1872-1962), the son of the famous diplomat Nikolay Pavlovich Ignatyev. Basing on the newly founded archival documents from Russia, Ukraine and Bulgaria, the author traces the entire path of life of the count: firstly the commander of units of the Preobrazhensky regiment, then a clerk in the National Library and a chairman of the medical commission of the Committee of Russian refugees in Sofia. The author comes to the conclusion that сount N.N. Ignatyev was a true son of his father who yielded benefits for two countries, Russia and Bulgaria.
