Introduction: the article analyzes the provisions on the definition of the notion “crimes in the sphere of high technologies” developed by the domestic science of criminal law and the current practice of law enforcement, gives the author’s definition of the notion “crime in the high technologies sphere”, considers the general criminological characteristics of crimes in the telecommunications sphere and computer information, analyzes the dynamics of these crimes at the present stage, discusses the prospects for further growth of these offenses. Materials and methods: the regulatory framework of the research is presented by the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Russian criminal legislation. The methodological basis of the research is the method of scientific analysis of consciousness and the immanent priori structures of human existence, the result of which is used to state and understand the best ways to solve problems directly related to the prevention, detection, detection and investigation of crimes committed using modern information technologies...
