Approximate method for determining the rational radius friction-pendulum

The article considers several ways to find the radius of a friction-pendulum bearings, by engineering methods. The results, advantages and disadvantages of each method are compared. The methods of taking into account the seismic load set according to Russian standards (SP 14.1330.2014) and according to the data from the tables of seismic accelerations are considered. Dynamic equations of equilibrium are constructed with and without dissipative forces. The efficiency of using friction pendulum bearings as a method of seismic protection of buildings and structures is proved.
