This article considers profit as an indicator of enterprise performance. Opinions of modern authors are presented regarding the interpretation of the concept of «profit» and related categories such as profit, profit indicators, sources of profit, etc. Based on theoretical analysis, the author makes his conclusion on this category. The analysis of the impact on profit of internal factors, allowing to identify internal reserves for profit growth for the enterprise.
