The reasons for the continuing gaps in the level of development of the member countries of ASEAN

In the article are analysed the reasons for the social and economic gap in ASEAN. Based on the study of a number of indicators of ASEAN member countries, it is distinguished that one of the main reasons for inequality in the Association is the lack of investment attracted by all ASEAN members except Singapore. It is revealed that the low share of intra-ASEAN trade is due to the lack of liberalization of the goods market. The recorded gap in the movement of labor of ASEAN is explained by lack of liberalization of labor market.
