In this article, foster family is studied as a factor of adaptation and a form of adoption of orphans and children deprived of parental care in Russia on the example of Primorsky region. One of the major destinations of increasing the role of foster family is to improve the legal base. The results of authors' sociological research detected that it is necessary to increase the legal and other assistance to foster family in order to solve many problems that it faces during bringing-up and social adaptation of adopted children.
