The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the state of forest plantations in the Otrada River basin for the period from 2001 to 2023. The study revealed that at the beginning of the period, the total area of forest plantations was 724 hectares, mainly represented by woodlands (more than 80%) and state protected forest belts (GPLP), covering about 15% of the territory. The species composition of the stand was characterized by the dominance of pine, which accounted for 30% of the total area, as well as the significant presence of fruit crops, acacia, elm and maple. However, during the period under review, there has been a significant reduction in the total area of forest plantations by 68%, which indicates a serious degradation of the region's forestry complex. The largest losses were recorded in fruit plantations - a reduction of 87%, as well as in pine - by 72%. The area of the GPLP decreased by 65%, and the surrounding forest belts by 73%, which indicates a decrease in the effectiveness of environmental protection measures and an increase in erosion processes. A change in the acacia-dominated rock composition by the end of the period may negatively affect the biodiversity and sustainability of the ecosystem. The data obtained emphasize the need to take urgent and comprehensive measures to restore forest plantations, including the protection of fruit crops and pine forests, as well as the strengthening of state protective forest belts. Restoration of forest cover is a key condition for maintaining ecological balance, preventing erosion and ensuring sustainable development of the Otrada River basin. The results of the study can serve as a basis for the development of forest reclamation strategies and environmental protection measures in the region.
