The use of satellite imagery data for monitoring reservoirs in the Republic of Uzbekistan

The article presents a methodology for the application of satellite imagery data to monitor reservoirs in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The research focuses on improving water resource management in conditions of scarcity caused by climate change and increased anthropogenic pressure. The methodology involves the use of remote sensing (RS) data, incorporating advanced satellite image processing technologies such as classification, water body indexing (NDWI), analysis of the dynamics of water surface areas, and modeling of seasonal changes. The study also evaluates the effectiveness of satellite data in identifying critical changes in reservoirs, including pollution, silting, and alterations in the water balance.
