Engineering research in choosing optimum alternatives for the development of northern territories

The basic trends, problems and use of space monitoring and aerial-and-space photography for optimum allocation of new infrastructural objects and transport facilities in poorly studied areas of the European North are considered. An engineering estimation of prominent features of land relief and their influence on the construction efficiency when developing new deposits of mineral resources is suggested.
