The article presents the possibilities of using geoinformation systems in assessing the indicators of the region's economy. Electronic maps created on the basis of the database "Resource potential of semi-saline and saline soils" help to study and describe the spatial differentiation of the region's economy, the nature and relationships of economic entities, and identify the features of nature management. Some indicators that characterize the main trends in agriculture in Tuva are reflected. The use of the capabilities of geoinformation technologies ensures the complexity and clarity of the presentation of information. The article deals with the use of phosphogypsum for effective top dressing in various soil and climatic zones for cereals, vegetables, industrial and other agricultural crops, to increase the yield of cotton and the technological quality of its fiber. That the use of phosphogypsum as a chemical meliorant improves the chemical, physical and water - physical properties of the soil.
