The work is devoted to the problem of current concern - treatment of children and adolescents with posttraumatic deformities of the knee and those combined with shortening. Detailed clinical-and-statistical characteristic of these patients is presented. Clinical experience of treatment of 65 children with such a pathology using the technique of controlled transosseous osteosynthesis with the Ilizarov fixator is analyzed. Treatment tactics is proposed depending on the deformity type, extent, localization and on the shortening amount. The authors came to the conclusion of high effectiveness of the transosseous compression-distraction osteosynthesis technique according to G.A. Ilizarov for severe deformities of II-III degree in the elder age group and for great shortenings. The results of treatment are positively evaluated in all the cases.
