Bionic design is the design and production of globally competitive and customized products of a new generation based on the use of computer engineering technologies, optimization and advanced production technologies, primarily additive technologies, when the resulting optimal "best-in-class" engineering solutions (parts, products, structures, etc.) resemble structures found in nature. The use and effective combination of computer-aided optimization (CAO) software systems and advanced additive manufacturing technologies made it possible to create complex engineering structures and technical systems in a time that is millions of times less than evolution or ontogenesis.
