The authors studied the possibility of application of membrane technologies for the purification of water surface sources, groundwater and industrial water. There is viewed the dependence of membrane processes on the size of the pores in membranes, the working pressure of structural elements - material and configuration of the membranes. The comparative analysis of the regularities of the process of membrane separation of liquid wastes and the analysis of requirements of industrial membranes is given. As a result it is shown that the membrane technologies are the real alternative to the traditional technologies of preparation of potable water and purification of industrial wastewater.
