Application of improvement methods in the quality management system of the railway industry

The article assesses the existing quality management system (QMS) of the enterprise providing services for repair of cars for compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2015, identifies areas for improvement, proposes an action plan to improve the system. Methods of lean production and quality cost estimation were chosen as methods of QMS improvement for the railway industry. Mapping of the value stream is applied at the production site of the enterprise, as a result, the introduction of new equipment to reduce time losses is proposed. As a result of application of cost model on business process «Repair of the car» financial losses which decrease is offered to improve through additional work with material and technical resources of the enterprise are revealed.
