Application of value chain model to analysis of electric vehicles production

This article refers to the issue of electric vehicles impacting value chain in automotive industry. The analysis of economic consequences of adding electric vehicles to the largest automakers’ product range is presented, concerning development, production, marketing and sales in particular. Differences between electric and internal combustion vehicles are considered. Value chain in automotive industry is analyzed by means of M. Porter’s value chain model.
