Numerical simulation in implementation of new manufacturing technologies

The article presents the results of analysis of approaches to the design of products manufactured using new production technologies. Several new technologies are discussed, including injection molding of thermoplastic composite materials, robotic automated tape layout, and additive technologies. It is shown that for the considered technologies the microstructure of the component and thus the behavior of the part is influenced by the parameters of the manufacturing process. The challenges of structural and process design are investigated for each of the selected technologies, and the solution based on the integrated application of computer-aided design systems is suggested. The corresponding features of modern numerical simulation systems are presented.
