In this article features of spectral analysis in geophysical data processing are discussed. It is shown the coupling a time-space functions with their spectral transforms. Special attention is paid not to mathematical aspects of the problem discussed in corresponding textbooks on mathematics but to physical interpretation of the basic principles and formulas.
