Application of fiber-optic monitoring systems on gas pipelines of automated gas distribution stations

The article discusses the application of fiber-optic monitoring systems on gas pipelines of automated gas distribution stations (AGDS). The principles of operation and advantages of this technology, the experience of its implementation at Gazprom facilities are analyzed. The main problems in using monitoring systems at AGDS are identified and ways to solve them are proposed. The economic efficiency of introducing fiber-optic systems to improve the safety and reliability of gas pipeline operation is substantiated. The results of the study can be used in developing projects for modernization of existing and construction of new AGDS using modern monitoring systems.
