The paper deals with justification of necessity to organize continuous geomechanical monitoring of geological hierarchical-block environment. While constructing linearly extended facilities, it is unavoidable to cross a large number of structure heterogeneities, many of them are quite movable that result in challenges during operation of these facilities. There have been considered the basics of geomechanical monitoring of the environment at different stages as constructing, operation and conservation of oil and gas pipelines; the issues of testing grounds arrangements, methods of mathematical processing of measurements results and its interpretation have been discussed. The examples show possibility of developed methodology application.
