Priorities for innovative development of the fishery complex

The article is devoted to an analysis of the innovative development of the fisheries complex (RFC) in Russia and abroad. In the context of increased growing demands for food security and environmental sustainability, innovation-based modernization of RFC is becoming a key factor in its competitiveness. The purpose of the study is to assess the current state, identify advanced technologies and best practices, as well as identify barriers and prospects for the innovative development of the RFC, including the aspect of strengthening industry sovereignty. Priority areas of innovation are identified: intensive aquaculture, digitalization, genetics, sustainable resource management and a cluster approach. It was concluded that a systematic approach to stimulating innovation is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the RFC.
