Priorities implementation of energy saving policy in Ukraine

The priority directions of implementation of energy saving policy in Ukraine are proved in the article. Intrinsic characteristics of the concepts «energy saving» and «energy efficiency» are analysed. It was emphasized that energy efficiency is one of the aspects of energy saving, but energy efficiency politic contributes energy saving in every enterprise, personality, and the state as a whole. Particular attention is paid to improvement of sources and mechanisms of financing energy saving measures and state’s stimulating energy saving behavior by enterprises and population. The author emphasizes that effective implementation of energy saving policy in the country is hampered by the lack of actual strategy of the energy sector for the nearest years. The possibility of using alternative energy sources is analyzed. Proposed measures will allow to reduce Ukraine’s energy dependence from other countries, reduce the amount of harmful emissions into the environment from using traditional fuels, increase the competitiveness of domestic goods as a result of reducing the share of energy in production costs and improve the international image of Ukraine.
