The Direct economic effect is the subject of scientific understanding, both in Russian and foreign science. A new approach to assessing the activity of cultural objects and calculating its economic effect is proposed and tested. The calculations are based on the example of the Yelabuga state historical, architectural and art Museum-reserve. The methodology for calculating the direct economic effect takes into account the economic effects that arise as a result of the Museum’s interaction with its partners - small and medium-sized businesses, educational organizations, the population, and the local community as a whole. Calculations have shown that the total economic effect of the Yelabuga Museum is two and a half times higher than the budget of Yelabuga. The paper reveals the direct economic effect on the example of income and expenses of the Yelabuga state historical, architectural and art Museum-reserve. Direct economic effect (direct savings) is the saving of material and labor resources obtained as a result of implementing the technology directly at the accounting sites. Savings can be obtained by reducing the number of staff, reducing the salary Fund, reducing the consumption of materials.
