The problem of forming the Russian centralized state in the domestic and foreign historiography

The article analyzes various opinions of scholars of historians on the causes of the formation of the Russian centralized state and the civilizational choice of the Russian people after the Mongol-Tatar invasion. This problem is widely studied, but still a number of questions require additional scrupulous research. This theme attracted and will attract the attention of learned historians, primarily by the way in which a strong, unified state emerged from hostile and scattered lands and principalities and what factors predetermined its formation and development.
