Problem of import substitution at local markets of the region

The article deals with the problems of import substitution. It is shown that the markets of home appliances, food and other consumer goods, industrial equipment and materials, as well as the entire national economy complex of Buryatia in general is heavily dependent on imports of resources both from the Russian regions and abroad. It is pointed out that Buryatia, as well as other Russian regions, needs a technological breakthrough, technical and technological modernization. It is revealed that the region has a fairly high innovational and industrial potential, as well as prospects for achievement and provision of food and economic security, and as a result, for import substitution. The main objective now is to diversify and develop domestic and international cooperation relations aimed at saturaion the regional markets.
