Today, the Earth has been in an unprecedented and unusual situation for its entire existence: throughout the history of mankind, the development of industry, science and medicine has significantly improved the lives of almost all countries of the world for the first time. However, on the other hand, global climate change becomes the price of well-being, which can lead to irreversible consequences. Over the past quarter century, the Arctic region has lost more than 20% of its population, mainly due to mass immigration. To reverse the negative trend, it is necessary to study in detail all the reasons affecting migration in the Arctic. However, this analysis is very complicated. The Arctic is a unique place with unspoilt terrain and impressive but fragile biodiversity. Global economic, climatic and environmental changes have a profound impact on the ecosystem and population of the Arctic. This consistently has a noticeable and tangible impact on the Earth as a whole. The Arctic has become a topic of global interest because of the changes taking place there. In the last few years, economic and intergovernmental problems have been emerging all over the world, which are noticeably changing people’s ordinary lives. Migration activity of the population is influenced not only by general factors, but also by specific Arctic factors: historical features of Arctic settlements, the high importance of the ethnic component in the structure of the population’s potential, unfavorable natural and climatic living conditions.
