Personality in the context of the cultural historical approach: reflections of a psychologist

Бесплатный доступ

We could hardly find people who would question the statement that personality creates culture and culture nourishes and raises personality, that they both are connected to each other in a very close spiritual way. The creation of culture by personality and the formation of personality by culture constitute a unified process though it is very familiar for the everyday cognition to treat them as independent acts. For example, many psychologists have forgotten that psychology is a study of soul. Sergey Averintsev once noted that humanities are studies without human. Every of them do has its own subject, but whatever this subject is it can't be a substitute neither for a human nor for a personality. The author of this paper first follows the tradition of separating the phenomena of culture and personality, but then tries to prove that they are tied in a unified, indivisible and unmerged whole.
