The author of the article raises the question of the actual location of the original St. Isaac’s Church (1707-1727) in St. Petersburg. Despite the fact that the main milestones in the history of the existence of this temple are known, the question of its location relative to the Admiralty remains debatable. Using one of the key methods of historical geography - the cartographic method of research - the author, based on an analysis of the cartographic sources of the Petrine era (handwritten and engraved drawings and plans of St. Petersburg), offers his reasoned opinion on the stated issue.
