Defining a contract of inheritance in the framework of legislative activities

The article considers the evolution of the concept of "inheritance contract" within the framework of two drafts proposed by the Deputy of the State Duma Pavel Vladimirovich Krasheninnikov: No. 801269-6 of 2015 and No. 451522-7 of 2018. During the legislative activity, a contract of inheritance passed the stage from a special type of will to a special type of contract, thus the problem of legal regulation of inheritance contracts arises: are the general provisions on the will are applicable to them or the general provisions on the contract. We have come to the conclusion that the contract of inheritance is a special type of contract due to its essence as a whole.
