The article provides a brief analysis of the legal status of persons replacing municipal positions. It is concluded that the restrictions are an integral part of the legal status of persons replacing municipal positions. Analyzed the provisions of the law on the consequences arising from the violation of the legislation on corruption by persons replacing municipal offices. Considered individual prohibitions and restrictions in terms of their effectiveness. The problem of the contradiction between the norms of the current legislation and the need to eliminate this contradiction is touched upon.
