The efficiency of the development of budget levelling mechanism in the Republic of Mordovia which is determined by financial resources at the disposal of the state power bodies as well as interrelations between the republic budget and the budgets of municipalities carrying out economic activities and promoting modernisation of territorial infrastructure are analysed in the article.
