A problem of correlation between the material world and the human soul in the ethic and psychological doctrine of K. D. Kavelin

The article is devoted to reconstruction and analysis of views of the great Russian philosopher and jurist K.D. Kavelin on a correlation of an outside, material world and a soul of a person, which he called "a mental organism ". Special attention is paid to the differentiation of feelings and thoughts by Kavelin. Also, the author considers Kavelin’s designation of such prop-erties of the soul as idealness, consciousness and spontaneity or will.
