An important and undeveloped problem is the correlation of the legal and forensic evaluation of the severity of the injury. Essentially, the forensic assessment predetermines the legal assessment. Analyzing the documents regulating forensic medical expert activities, the author comes to the conclusion about the dubious legal nature of several provisions contained therein, which eliminates the guarantees of the rights of victims of crimes.
