The problem of saving wild and homeless animals trapped in residential areas

Бесплатный доступ

Over the past ten years, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources, there has been an increase in the total number of individual species of wild animals on the territory of the Russian Federation. In 2021, the population of moose exceeded 1.2 million individuals, brown bears - 300,000. Increasingly, young predators and ungulates find themselves in residential areas. Police officers, hunting inspectors, and emergency workers who leave on alert often do not have special weapons and special preparations and are forced to kill them. It is necessary at the federal and regional levels to develop and put into practice an effective operational system of passive immobilization of wild animals trapped on the territory of settlements. This will increase the level of safety of the population and save the lives of wild animals that find themselves in an unusual environment for them.
