The influence of soil aeration on the activity of different groups microorganisms in the works of Russian and foreign scientists

Numerous works of Russian and foreign scientists are devoted to the study and management of such physical and chemical processes as the redistribution of soil organic matter, the formation and degradation of the structure, and gas exchange in the soil environment. It is proved that increased compaction of soil layers leads to a decrease in oxygen intake and slowing down oxidative processes, so the regulation of the life of aerobic microorganisms is possible due to mechanical soil treatment, loosening and drainage. The development of anaerobic microorganisms occurring in the upper layers of the soil is regulated by the presence of carbon dioxide in soil lumps. As follows from the experiments of Mishustin, Muromtsev and other researchers, microorganisms that inhabit soil particles regulate the transformation of soil organic matter and have the ability to restrain the growth of non-specific soil microorganisms that fall from the air.
