The problem of greenhouse gas emissions: The situation in Russia

One of the sustainable Development Goals adopted by the world community is to take urgent measures to combat climate change and its consequences. The purpose of the author’s work is to evaluate the results of activities to combat greenhouse gas emissions in Russia. To achieve the purpose of the article, statistical materials from Rosstat, data from the EDGAR database, the National Action Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change, etc. were used. A comparative analysis of the dynamics of carbon dioxide emissions in the world and Russia has been carried out, including in terms of the share of the Russian economy in global production. It is shown that Russia has reduced emissions compared to 1990 levels, but in the 21st century, the dynamics of emissions growth is positive.
