The problem of female education in Bosnia. Staka Skenderova: her life, her school

This article is devoted to the origins of the women's education in Bosnian pashaluk in the 19th century. It deals with a story of the life and activities of Bosnian teacher Staka Skenderova. On the example of the activities of the first female school in Sarajevo the author reveals the main problems which the enlighteners in the Slavic-Turkish region had to be confronted with.
