Problems of regional development management

Various aspects of innovative development of regions are investigated in the article. The signs of classification of regions are given and classification groups are described according to the level of innovative development. The analysis and comparison of the level of innovative development of several regions of the Russian Federation were carried out, conclusions about the problems and opportunities for innovative development of the regions аre made. The specific opportunities for stimulating innovative development of regions in such areas as the development of human capital, stimulating the development of technologies, expanding the network of interaction between business and government in the field of innovation, as well as the formation of regional innovation systems in interrelation with NIS are considered.
