Problematic aspects of the development of criminal proceedings with the participation of jurors

This article aims to identify some of the current problems associated with the reform of the institution of jurors in modern Russia and outline ways to solve them. The article is based on such problems as: reduction of the number of criminal cases submitted to a jury; responsibility of a juror candidate for failure to appear at a court session without a valid reason; reduction of the number of jurors and candidates for courts of all levels.
