Introduction: The article is devoted to the problem of establishing the quantitative content of the narcotic drug d-lysergide (LSD, LSD-25), distributed on paper, during the production of expert examinations, as well as determining the size of the said psychoactive substance when considering criminal cases related to its illicit trafficking in courts. The authors describe and analyse the current state of normative and methodological bases underlying the production of expert examinations, which investigate the main ready-made form of LSD distribution, and the practice of courts of various instances in criminal cases involving illicit trafficking in the latter. Based on the results of the analysis, measures have been proposed to eliminate the identified contradictions in approaches to LSD sizing and to improve legislation in the area of drug trafficking control.
