The article deals with the problem of changing the frequency of fashion trends under the influence of objective factors of the socio-cultural and scientific-technical environment. In this connection, the need to adjust the approaches to industrial design of clothing models is actualized, the leading importance of industrial design of clothing methods "Series" and "Line" by type of matrices is determined. The authors call the need for in-depth marketing research to form a reasonable consumer preferences, implemented in the design of matrices of commercial clothing. Examples of technological methods for the expansion of the model range of matrix collections are given.
