Problems of diagnosis and treatment of polypous rhinosinusitis by modern methods

Polypous rhinosinusitis (polypous degeneration of the sinus) is hypertrophic changes in the internal epithelial lining of the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity, accompanied by the recurrent occurrence of polypous formations. According to world statistics, the problem is widespread among residents of northern Europe (Finland, Denmark, Iceland) and accounts for up to 5% of all otolaryngological pathologies. The average age of the onset of the disease is 42-44 years, men are susceptible to polypous rhinosinusitis 2-3 times more often than women.
