From 5 to 9 September 2012 in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator was III International Conference «Ancient cultures of Mongolia and the Baikal in Siberia». The first conference on the subject was held in 2010 in the capital of Buryatia, Ulan-Ude, the second in 2011 in Irkutsk. The conference was attended by scientists from Mongolia, Russia, China, the USA, Canada, Japan, England, France. The plenary session was presented three reports. Further work of the conference took place in sections, which was organized by seven: «Stone age in Central, North and North-East Asia», «Bronze and early iron age in Central, North and North-East Asia», «Central, North and North-East Asia in the age of nomadic empires», «Ethnogenesis and cultural genesis of the Central, North and North-East Asia», «Protection and use of historical and cultural monuments», «Interdisciplinary research in archeology and anthropology». Conference presentations were published in the released by the beginning of the proceedings of the Forum (Ancient cultures of Mongolia and the Baikalian Siberia. Ulaanbaatar: Mongolian State University Publishing House, 2012. Vol. 3. Pt 1, 2. 704 p.). Very interesting was a trip to learn Mongolian colleagues over the past several years, the Kharkhorin – the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire.
