The article analyzes the results of a survey conducted among schoolchildren in grades 9-10 in seven urban and rural schools in the Tver and Yaroslavl regions. The close connection between worldview ideas and cultural memory is shown, which is largely formed in school history lessons. The worldviews of the adolescents surveyed related to religion, state, and politics are poorly developed, not yet established and contradictory. Schoolchildren’s value orientations are formed at the intersection of material (money), social (social justice) and spiritual (family, traditions) markers. The greatest contribution to the formation of the cultural and historical memory of schoolchildren was made by knowledge about the events of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, Russian history, as well as the events of recent years associated with the return of Crimea and Donbass to Russia. Socio-economic problems force almost half of schoolchildren to think about changing their place of residence, while 20-25% would like to leave the country.
