Problems and directions of improving the efficiency of the functioning of local budgets

This work is devoted to the problems of the functioning of local budgets. The implementation of new methods of management at the level of local self-management presupposes the existence of financial independence for municipalities. However, at the present time, on the contrary, there is a discrepancy between the scope of powers of local self-government bodies and the amount of financial resources available to them. Therefore, the important direction of the reform of local self-government in Russia are issues of increasing revenues of local budgets, their restructuring in a direction that provides real financial self-sufficiency.
