The authors analyze the current state of energy supply in the Central Ecological Zone of the Baikal Natural Territory (BNT) and calculate of the volume of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and ash and slag waste under the existing heating scheme. The article identifies the main problems of the existing state of heat supply of the Central Ecological Zone of BNT. Options of alternative sources of renewable electric power are studied to reduce emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere and water area of Lake Baikal. The volume of electricity sales in the urban-type settlement of Khuzhir in Olkhonsky district of the Irkutsk region is calculated and consequently, they determine the amount of electricity needed for heating at the CEZ BNT related to the Republic of Buryatia. The proposal on the transfer of heat supply to the Baikal coast to electricity using the resources of the Angara cascade hydropower plants is justified.
